First Responders (Police, Firefighters, EMTs, and Paramedics) put their lives on the line every day for people they don’t even know. While everyone else is running away, they’re running towards the danger. Now we honor our local heroes with a special day of their own: National First Responders Day.
A resolution was passed in the U.S. Senate in 2017 that designates October 28 as “Honoring the Nation’s First Responders Day.” An estimated 4.6 million career and volunteer firefighters, police, emergency medical technicians, and paramedic workers serve communities all across the nation, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
With National First Responders Day coming up next week, SERVPRO of Fernandina Beach/Jacksonville Northeast took the opportunity to recognize the contributions of first responders by visiting the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department to present appreciation gift bags. Here, Sales and Marketing Representative, Cory Palmer, is shown presenting the gift bags to two members of the department.
